  • What is the Syllabus for the CTET 2018 Examinations?

Answer: Here is the syllabus for CTET 2018-

  • Child development & Pedagogy: 30 marks
  • Mathematics: 30 marks
  • Language – 1: 30 marks
  • Language – 2: 30 marks
  • Environmental Studies: 30 marks

  • Can I apply for Both Paper I and Paper II?

Answer: Yes, you can apply for both the paper as the examination timing for both the paper doesn’t clash. But you have to pay application fees for both the paper.

  • What is/are the Qualification(s) for applying for CTET?

Answer:

CTET 2018 Educational Qualification Criteria for Primary Stage Classes I-V:

The candidate who has completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with minimum 50% marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration)/ securing minimum 45% marks and has cleared or is appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration), according to the NCTE Regulations 2002 / minimum 50% marks and has cleared or is appearing in final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration)/ minimum 50% marks and has cleared or is appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration).

Or

The candidate who has Bachelor’s degree and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration).

CTET 2018 Educational Qualification for Elementry Stage Classes VI-VIII:

The candidate who holds a Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration)/ Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or is appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education/ Graduation degree with 40% marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of Bachelor in Education, according to NCTE regulations /Graduation degree with 50% marks and has cleared or appearing in B.Ed program of 1 year duration.

Or

The candidate should completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with minimum 50% marks and has cleared or is appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education or completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50% marks and cleared or is appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed.

  • After qualifying the CTET, am I eligible for getting the Job?

Answer: No, Qualifying CTET would not confer a right on any person for Recruitment/Employment. The Central TET is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment for teaching Jobs in Govt and Private schools.

  • If I qualify CTET, will CTET unit or CBSE provide me with a Job?

Answer: As I Mention above here the answer is also same. Let me tell you that CB SE is an Examination conducting body only. Providing job/employment does not fall under its jurisdiction.

  •  What is the number of attempts a candidate can avail for CTET?

Answer: There is no limit set for the CTET attempts so far. So you can conclude that the candidate can apply for many times for the CTET Examinations. Moreover, a candidate who already qualified CTET can also apply again for the examination. No restriction is there!

  • How to use your CTET Qualified Certificates or Applicability of CTET Certificates?

Answer: 

  • After qualifying CTET you can apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
  • CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
  • Also, Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET  conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.
  • According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Law 53, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6th March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the  appropriate Central/ State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.

 

  • How many Years is the CTET certificate valid or what is the validity period of CTET certificate?

Answer: The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories.

  • My CTET application fees amount has been debited from my account but confirmation page is not generated?

Answer: This might happen to you! Due to congestion on Server, sometimes online transactions are failed, resulting amount is deducted from the candidate’s account but not credited in Board’s account. So the candidate has to pay again the application fee either through online mode or challans so as to get her/his confirmation page. The failed transaction amount will be refunded within 10-15 working days to the concerned bank account.

  • I made a mistake in my Name/Father Name/Mother Name/Correspondence Address/ Category/Change in the city of exam centre/Photo/Sign. What should I do now?

Answer: Yes, you can make the correction. Provided remember that the candidate’s particulars cannot be changed/edited once the examination fee has been submitted. Thereafter corrections in the particulars can be made online w.e.f. 26-07-2018 (Thursday) to 31-07-2018 (Tuesday) only and no further request for a change in particulars will be entertained under any circumstances. So be careful while filling in the details! Check twice!

  • The Fees has been submitted in Bank but still, it is shown as “Fee Not Received”. What Should I do?

Answer: If your confirmation page is not generated, please contact to your concerned Bank Branch for the details and send us a scanned copy of bank challan having the stamp of the concerned bank.

  • Is there any provision for Rechecking/Re-evaluation of the OMR Answer sheet?

Answer: Generally, the Answer Sheet of the candidate appear in the examination is rechecked by the machine with full care and repeatedly. But no rechecking or re-evaluation will be entertained by the CTET authority board.
