Number of Posts: Total 47 posts [SC-03, ST-05, OBC-17, UR-13, EWS-09]
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Hindi from a recognized University with English as a subject at the Degree Level OR Master’s Degree in English from a recognized University with Hindi as a subject at the Degree Level OR Master’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University with Hindi and English as subjects at the Degree Level OR Master’s Degree in any subject with Hindi medium from a recognized University and English as a subject at the Degree Level OR Master’s Degree in any subject with English medium from a recognized University and Hindi as a subject at the Degree Level.
Diploma/Certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa from any University/ Institute recognised by the Government OR 02 years experience of Translation work from Hindi to English and viceversa in Central/State Government offices or State Legislature Secretariats or Central/State Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies/Supreme Court of India/High Courts.
UPPER AGE LIMIT: 27 years as on 27.07.2020 (29 years for the candidates having the prescribed translation work experience of 02 years). However, there is age relaxation available.
Selection Procedure: The candidate for the recruitment of Lok Sabha Secretariat Translator 47 position, will be selected from the two written stages as shown below-
- Preliminary Examination: 150 marks
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs- 50 Marks
- General English- 50 Marks
- General Hindi- 50 Marks
Only those candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination at the requisite standards will be allowed to appear in the Main Examination.
- Main Examination: 250 marks
- Paper I:
- Part (a) Translation from English to Hindi 75 marks
- Part (b) Translation from Hindi to English 75 marks
- Paper-II :
- Part (a) English Essay, Precis and Grammar 50 marks
- Part (b) Hindi Essay, Precis and Grammar 50 marks
- Paper I:
From amongst the candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in each component of Papers I and II above, a selection will be made on the basis of the overall performance of candidates in the Main Examination, subject to the availability of vacancies. The candidates belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories availing the benefit of their category in marks obtained for qualifying the Preliminary Examination and/or Main Examination and/or in age will not be entitled to occupy UR vacancy.
