SCERT Assam: Admission Date extended for 2 years (D.El.Ed.) course

Hello viewers, Good news for those who have forgotten to apply for the 2 years DIPLOMA IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION (D.EL.ED.) COURSE (2018-2020). The date has been extended to 07-04-2018 (Saturday)So, don’t forget again to apply for the D.El.Ed course.

Do you know this is a very useful diploma nowadays for the recruitment of Elementary School Teacher? However, note that this does not mean that you will get a job once you have the diploma. The diploma is useful for the recruitment process while you apply for a post of Elementary School Teacher. If you don’t know about the Eligibility criteria then here take a look!

SCERT Assam: Eligibility Criteria

The admission is going on for Upper Primary Level and Lower Primary level. This two years course will be conducted in the NCTE recognized Teacher Education Institutes of the state; for the academic session, 2018-2020 beginning from the 1st July 2018 for acquiring the mandatory professional skill.

Required Qualification for the admission:

  • For Lower Primary level: The candidate taking admission must have passed 10+2 examination from recognized Boards / Councils. The candidates shall have to submit an equivalent certificate from the competent authority. The candidate must have 50% marks in aggregate excluding marks secured in extra optional. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category, there will be a relaxation of 5% of marks in aggregate


The candidate must be Graduate in Arts/ Science/ Commerce stream from a recognized university.

  • For Upper Primary level: The applicant must be a graduate in Arts/ Science/ Commerce stream from a recognized University.

What about the Age limit?

The Age of the applicant must not be less than 18 years and not more than 34 years as on 1st July 2018. Really 34 years is the maximum limit! Note that there will be relaxation by 2 years for candidates belonging to SC & ST categories. Which means the SC/ST candidates maximum age limit is 36 years.

Is there any Reservation for the seats?

Yes, Reservation of seats for the candidates belonging to reserved categories including OBC/MOBC/SC/ST/Person With Disability (PWD) will be as per existing Govt. norms. Detail is available on our official website www.

How much is the Online Application Fee?

The candidate willing to take admission has to pay Rs. 250.00 (Rupees two hundred and fifty only) for all categories as an application fee.

Note that the Payment is also done through online (Internet Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/Wallet).

When is the Pre Entry Test?

The Candidates will be able to download his/her Admit Card from the website from 26th April 2018. For that candidate’s Registration Number and Date of Birth generated during online submission of application will be required. There will be a Pre Entry Test (PET) for selection of candidates. The noteworthy point is the DIET of a District will be the venue for PET. However, depending upon the number of candidates the Test may be held in nearby school/college.
